How it Works...

On most FPSOs the cargo tanks have an mixture of inert gas, and hydrocarbon gas evaporated from the cargo.  The Hydrocarbon gasses can reach as much as 70% concentration resulting in excess product loss, and potential process upset from gas alarms.

The process is simple, the gas from the process is used to blanket the tanks.  On loading tanks, the gas blanketis recovered to the process.  On cargo discharge the gas is bleed from the process to the cargo tanks.
